The California Highway Patrol says westbound traffic is back to normal after a blockage at Gold Ranch because of a crash.
An overturned semi blocked all westbound lanes just west of the Nevada/California state line shortly before 4PM December 6, 2016. It took several hours to move the truck and clean up a diesel spill that resulted from a tank rupture.
CHP says the driver had a leg pinned against the steering wheel, making it difficult to remove him and transport him to a hospital for treatment via CARE Flight.
The cause has not been determined.
The driver was carrying a load of frozen food.
