Fire crews are making progress against a 2 square-mile blaze burning near The Geysers geothermal facility in Northern California.

Cal Fire says the fire is 45 percent contained Monday night.

The blaze forced the temporary evacuation of one of the 14 plants at the Calpine facility.

Calpine spokesman Brett Kerr says employees went back to the plant, which is now operating.

The cause of the fire burning about 85 miles north of San Francisco is under investigation.

About 90 people in three dozen homes were under evacuation orders or advisories.
