Santa Claus came riding in a Nevada National Guard C-130 Hercules for this year’s Operation Santa Claus.
Hundreds of volunteers were on hand Saturday, including Nevada Football and Cheer teams, the McQueen High School Choir, North Valleys High School JROTC, and Flips gymnasts.
The purpose of the annual event, put on by the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, is to give families of
a special Christmas experience.
25 families were picked to receive a fully decorated tree and several presents.
The highlight of the event was Santa Claus closing out the parade of planes to kickoff the festivities.
This was the fourth year of the event. Organizers say each year has gotten bigger and they look forward to providing this event again next year.
