Road work planned on Mt. Rose Highway starting Tuesday

CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO) - Drivers can expect delays on Mt. Rose Highway just below the Mt. Rose ski area starting Tuesday. It's part of a road improvement project.

The Nevada Department of Transportation says crews will be working from Tuesday, November 12 through Friday, November 15 between 7AM and 5PM. Drivers can expect single lane closures.

NDOT says the improvement plan will enhance sections of highway for the more than 5,000 drivers who travel it daily.

Two switchback roadway curves have been repaved with a high friction asphalt surface. A half mile of roadside concrete barrier rail just below Country Club Drive in Incline Village has also been replaced with a new barrier to deflect and prevent vehicles from drifting off the highway.
