RENO, NV (KOLO)-- UPDATE: With no resolution in store by the end-of-July deadline, Renown has issued an updated statement regarding its dispute with Anthem-Blue Cross Blue Shield:

"We continue to work with Anthem to find a solution that works for everyone since receiving notice of termination from Anthem in February. While we continue that pursuit, if acceptable resolution is not achieved by the effective date of the termination notice, July 31, 2019, Anthem enrollees may no longer have access to covered services at Renown. We will continue our efforts to resolve contract negotiations with Anthem fairly and equitably while we carry on working to ensure the greatest access and quality healthcare services for our community."

A Renown Health spokesperson said Wednesday Anthem issued a termination notice in February. Renown is trying to find “a solution that works for everyone,” according to the statement.

It continues, “While we continue that pursuit, if acceptable resolution is not achieved by the effective date of the termination notice, July 31, 2019, Anthem enrollees may no longer have access to covered services at Renown.”

Anthem-Blue Cross Blue Shield members can call Anthem at 1-800-331-1476 or go to www.anthem.com for a list of in-network providers. They can also talk to their human resource department.

Anthem-Blue Cross Blue Shield issued the following statement in response:

“Anthem is committed to improving lives and communities, and simplifying healthcare. That is why we continue to actively negotiate in good faith with Renown Health (Renown) to reach an agreement that protects access to affordable, high-quality health care for our Northern Nevada community and keeps Renown in our provider network. We believe hospitals and doctors should be compensated fairly, and this has been reflected in the offers we have made to Renown. We continue to negotiate in good faith in an effort to reach an agreement with Renown before the contract terminates on July 31. However, to provide adequate notice in the event that this cannot be achieved, we are informing our consumers of the situation. It is important to note that consumers can continue to see their Renown healthcare providers as we continue to work toward an agreement.”
