This happened on Wednesday, December 5, 2018.
Police say the incident began as a hit-and-run at Clear Acre Lane and McCarran Boulevard when a driver hit someone else then left the scene.
The victim followed the driver and eventually police became involved. Police pulled back for safety reasons as the suspect driver went through downtown Reno, but the driver stopped on southbound Virginia Street at the Truckee River bridge and police took the driver into custody.
Police believe the suspect driver, whose name was not immediately available, was under the influence of drugs.
