Reno house move proposed for Sunday; roads will be closed

RENO, Nev. (KOLO)-- There will be a second attempt Sunday to move the Gilbert/Humphrey house from near the University of Nevada, Reno through downtown, the Reno Police Department said Saturday.

The first attempt on March 28 ended when the weight of the home was too great for a bridge.

Sunday’s move is expected to start about 8 a.m. at 127 E. 7th St. RPD officers will close intersections to allow for the move to 501 St. Lawrence Ave.

Here is the proposed route: South on Center Street to 7th St.; west on 7th St. to Sierra Street; south on Sierra Street to Sixth Street; west on Sixth Street to West Street; south on West Street to Second Street; east on Second Street to North Virginia Street; south on Virginia Street to Liberty Street; west on Liberty Street to Arlington Avenue; south on Arlington Avenue to 501 St. Lawrence Ave.
