Reno first responders lift boy's spirits

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) -- A northwest Reno family that had its Halloween decorations stolen has had them all replaced thanks to generous donations.

The non profit JUSTin HOPE reached out to the Reno Fire and Police Departments, which chipped in to help.

"It's that sharing of joy, it's that lifting of each other. Seeing someone who is sad and helping them be happy, and really what's more important in life than that?" said Mitch's mother, Leta-Kaye Hansen.

Since our story aired, the family says it has been inundated with donations of decorations from neighbors and even strangers.

The parents want to extend a huge thank you to all the wonderful messages to them and their children.
