ORIGINAL STORY: The Wooster High School Band will join Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve and other local officials at a public gathering to welcome home local Olympian David Wise.

The public is invited to gather at 7PM Friday, March 2, 2018 at the ski statue near the airport's front entrance.

The party was originally scheduled for February 26, but was postponed because of Wise's schedule.

The party will be at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport terminal building, which was built for the 1960 Squaw Valley Winter Olympics. The Wooster High School Band, representing Wise’s alma mater, will perform the National Anthem.

Wise successfully defended his gold medal last week, breaking through on his final run to give the U.S. its third gold medal in the halfpipe at the Pyeongchang Olympics.
