Woman arrested for fatal stabbing at Reno motel

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) Reno police have arrested a suspect in the death of a man who was stabbed early Wednesday.

Shortly before 12:30AM January 6, 2016, officers responded to reports of a fight at the Desert Sunset Motel on E 4th Street. 21-year-old Michael Banquicio, who was stabbed in that fight, was taken to Renown Regional Medical Center, where he died.

Officers were told of a possible suspect who was found later in the day at an apartment complex in south Reno. 40-year-old Victoria Sweeting of Reno was questioned by police, who say she admitted to stabbing Banquicio.

Sweeting has been booked on one count of Open Murder.
