Reno Police looking for witness to 2015 killing

Reno police are hoping to hear from a possible witness to the death of man on Lakeside Drive.

About 2PM January 20, 2015, police were called to reports of a shooting in the 3000 block of Lakeside. Police found 20-year-old Brandon McGuirt, who had been hit by gunfire and died after being taken to a hospital.

Police say there may be a witness to the killing who has not been identified and interviewed. Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating this person.

The potential witness is described as Hispanic or black man in his twenties or early thirties with a shaved or bald head. He is about 6’ tall and 180 pounds, and possibly goes by the name of “Angel." He was wearing a black beanie-style hat, black zip-up hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and dark-colored work boots. He may have ties to the Fresno and San Francisco areas.
