Reno Police say two young runaways found safe

RENO, NV (KOLO) - UPDATE: The Reno Police Department says both girls have been found safe and are now home.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Reno Police Department is asking for the public's help locating two runaway girls.

AnnaMaria Olivas and Carmen Araceli Alvarado-Rodriguez were last reported seen in the area of Traner Middle School in Reno April 16, 2019, about 7:15AM. That's just northwest of the Spaghetti Bowl.

Police say AnnaMaria Olivas is 12 years old and Hispanic, 5'1" and 113 pounds with shoulder-length dark brown hair. She was wearing a black hoodie, a black "Traner Middle School" shirt, black pants and burgundy converse tennis shoes.

Carmen Araceli Alvarado-Rodriguez is 13 years old and Hispanic, 5'4" and 130 pounds with brown hair, green eyes and prescription glasses.

Police say they don't believe the girls are in any danger or were kidnapped, but there are special circumstances leading to police asking for help. They have not offered specifics about those circumstances.
