Reno Police arrest suspect in auto-pedestrian crash

Reno Police have arrested a man on charges of Battery with a Deadly Weapon for allegedly hitting a pedestrian with his vehicle.

The incident happened on August 17, 2019.

Investigators believe the driver intentionally hit the victim who was walking in a crosswalk at the intersection of West 7th Street and McCarran Boulevard. The pedestrian suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The driver left the scene.

On Wednesday, December 4, 2019, investigators arrested James Preston, 77.

Reno Police say Detectives they were able to identify Preston and his vehicle through witnesses and video collected from the area.
