Reno Fire Department gives thanks for new fire engine
The Reno Fire Department tweeted Wednesday it is giving thanks for its new 2019 Pierce Enforcer fire engine.
Wednesday was its first day on the job. It is at Station 1 and it is called Engine 1.
According to the Reno City Council agenda packet for Dec. 5, 2018, the engine will be paid for out of a $2.46 million fund. Most of the money will come from fire department capital project fund and from a grant from the Pennington Foundation. That money will also fund a second engine and a ladder truck.
Chief David Cochran tweeted that a second engine will hit the streets shortly.
