RENO, Nev. (KOLO)-- The Reno Fire Department tweeted Wednesday it is giving thanks for its new 2019 Pierce Enforcer fire engine.
Wednesday was its first day on the job. It is at Station 1 and it is called Engine 1.
According to the Reno City Council agenda packet for Dec. 5, 2018, the engine will be paid for out of a $2.46 million fund. Most of the money will come from fire department capital project fund and from a grant from the Pennington Foundation. That money will also fund a second engine and a ladder truck.
Chief David Cochran tweeted that a second engine will hit the streets shortly.
