SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA (KOLO) South Lake Tahoe Police have arrested a man accused of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Police got reports of a reckless driver speeding down Lake Tahoe Boulevard the evening of May 14, 2019. As officers tried to find him, they got reports he had crashed into another vehicle in a driveway near the 900 block of Macinaw Road.

The driver was gone by the time police got there, with witnesses saying he had run off into the woods after threatening them with a knife and a gun. No one was hurt.

Officers established a perimeter and used a K-9 unit to find the man, but they couldn't find him.

Officers got a warrant for his arrest and because of the nature of the call and the fact that the suspect was apparently armed, a SWAT team went to his home in the 2600 block of Lake Tahoe Boulevard about 10PM, found him inside and arrested him.

44-year-old Michael Henson was booked into the El Dorado County jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats and felon in possession of a firearm. No mugshot has been found available.
