RENO, NV (KOLO) The Reno Fire Department confirms one of its firefighters was hurt in a fall while at the scene of Friday's explosion at a University of Nevada, Reno dormitory.

The cause of a second firefighter's injury has not been made public. Both firefighters were taken to a hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Police say a mechanical failure is likely to blame for two explosions in the basement of Argenta Hall.

The firefighter injuries are in addition to those of eight people who were hurt after the explosion at the dorm. All have been treated and released. There are no reports of any missing students or staff.
