RENO, NV. (KOLO) -- A new 1600 square foot RAVE Junior and Teen Center is opening to offer respite care for parents who have kids with special needs between the ages of 7 and 22-years-old.
A group of teenagers enjoy the new RAVE Jr. and Teen Center
They drop their kids off with a team of volunteers to give parents a break and the service is free.
"We all come together, and we just play. We get to have a really great time, and while the kids are here playing and having a great time, their parents are having a break and they get to go out to dinner, go grocery shopping, maybe go home and take a nap, read a book, things like that," said RAVE Executive Director, Korine Viehweg.
The RAVE Junior and Teen Center will officially open later this month. It will be open to take-in kids and teens in August of 2019 and is located at 6490 South McCcarran Boulevard Building D1, #33 & #34.
