RENO, Nev. (KOLO) -- A developer is trying to convince the Reno Planning Commission in a City Hall meeting to move forward with a housing development project in Lemmon Valley.

Prado Ranch is hoping to build more than 700 homes. This is the second phase of its development.
The Washoe County Commission has already approved 490 housing units.
Some locals are worried about increased flooding and traffic in the area, but with the region facing a housing crisis, realtors say more houses are needed to bring down the cost.
The Planning Commission has continued the decision on Prado Ranch for January 16, 2019 at 6:00 pm.
