RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - People in northern Nevada are getting the chance to put themselves in the shoes of the disabled.

The X-Treme Ability Challenge pits 50 teams from all over the area against each other, on a timed course.

The event is put on by High Sierra Industries, which prepares disabled people for employment.

"Right here in northern Nevada, we're doing some pretty amazing designed curriculum design systems and program designs for people with disabilities that we think have an application across the country." says Lavonne Brooks. HSI CEO.

The X-Treme Ablity Challenge will be August 20. The event was last held in 2007.
