SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) UPDATE: Sparks Police say the dog, Cloe, had been taken from the front of the supermarket by someone who thought she was lost or a stray, and was acting out of concern for her welfare. Upon seeing reports of the dog being missing, the man wanted by police took the dog to the police station, where the owner and dog were reunited. No charges are expected.

Sparks Police are trying to track down a man they say stole a dog from a customer at a grocery store.

They say it happened just before 5:00 PM December 1, 2018 at the Foodmaxx on East Prater Way.

Police say the victim left his white great pyrenees tied up near the west doors for about five minutes, and when he left the store he found his dog was missing.

Surveillance shows a man take the dog and put it in his silver Ford sedan. Police describe him as a white man with long hair and a light beard.
