Road restrictions for President's visit to Reno

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Wednesday August 23, 2017, the Reno Police Department will work with several law enforcement agencies to temporarily restrict traffic for President Trump’s visit to Reno. Police say the temporary street closures will be in place to ensure the safety of people attending the event, and those planning on traveling in the area of the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.

Starting at 9:30 am, until approximately 12:30 pm, the following street closures will be in place:

South Virginia Street from Peckham Lane to South McCarran Boulevard.
*** Access to businesses in the 4900 block of S Virginia Street will be directed northbound on Kietzke to Firecreek Crossing, and then eastbound across Virginia***

Kietzke Lane from Peckham to Firecreek Crossing.

Redfield Parkway from Baker Lane to Virginia Street.

The City of Reno Public Works Department will install reader boards in the affected areas to notify drivers and pedestrians of the travel restrictions. Residents are encouraged to find alternate routes during the temporary closures.
