ORIGINAL REPORT: Reno Police are looking for a man who ran from a traffic stop Thursday morning.

Police say they were doing speed enforcement off 395 in Panther Valley, and went after a speeder, who crashed his blue BMW and ran off. Police cordoned off the area of Newport and Ranger, just off 395, but didn't find him. They say he may have gotten a ride with someone, and they are asking anyone who picked a man up in that area Thursday morning to call police at 775-334-2175. They do not believe the man is a threat to the community.

Traffic is no longer impacted at the search scene.

Police say they are looking for 22-year-old Frank Hidalgo, who is 5'11' and 155 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans and a black long-sleeved shirt. He has an unrelated warrant for a gross misdemeanor.

A passenger in the car was arrested on drug charges.
