Police bust 7 in Reno prostitution sting; 14 bike rally arrests
The Reno Police Department on Sunday reported 14 arrests and 42 citations as part of the 2019 Street Vibrations Spring Valley.
Additionally, the Regional Street Enforcement Team did a sting targeting patrons of prostitutes and police arrested two and cited five.
In the prostitution customer sting, police arrested Fred Gonzalez, 52, and Mark Dubey, 59. They cited Michael Hart, 32, Ariel Acosta, 51, Mark Thomas, 59, Isidro Bustos, 29, and Heriberto Vega-Alvarado, no age given.
Police targeted the customers in the Fourth Street corridor and used undercover detectives as part of the operation.
For the spring motorcycle rally, seven of the arrests were for people who had active warrants. There were two felony arrests, one for robbery and one for possession of a controlled substance. There were two arrests for trespassing and one each for illegally carrying a concealed weapon, obstructing and resisting and disturbing the peace.
Police issued 32 citations and took five people in protective custody.
“The crowds were extremely positive with the increased safety precautions within the event and very thankful for the police presence,” police said in a statement.
