Pile burn turns into Antelope Valley brush fire

RENO, Nev. (KOLO)-- The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District knocked down a brush fire Sunday in Antelope Valley north of Reno.

The brush fire was caused when a pile burn went out of control. The district allowed open burning on Sunday.

The district reminded people to follow safe burn procedures and to have a water or a fire extinguisher on hand. Ditch burning is prohibited without a permit.
