Photos released of suspect in Scheels attempted theft

SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO)-- The Sparks Police Department has released photographs of a man it says tried to steal about $400 worth of merchandise from a sporting goods store Friday.

Police say the man went into the Scheels at 1200 Scheels Drive about 3:30 p.m. January 11, 2019 and took the merchandise. When security workers confronted him, he dropped it, ran out of the store and got into a 2006 Subaru sedan and drove off, police say.

Police describe the man as white or Hispanic, and in his 20s with a medium build, scruffy hair, a light mustache and beard. The Subaru was silver with black wheels and tinted windows.
