Driver in ICU after crash into Peg's restaurant downtown
Reno Police are investigating a crash involving a driver hitting the front of Peg's Glorified Ham and Eggs restaurant in downtown Reno.
The truck hit the building on Sierra Street shortly before 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2016. No customers were eating outside at the time and nobody inside was hurt. Injuries to the driver of the truck, first described as minor, have been upgraded to life-threatening and he is in ICU at Renown; police say it appears some sort of medical episode led him to lose consciousness and leave the road. Police say neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors.
The restaurant's manager says the location will be closed temporarily while repairs can be made.
