FERNLEY, Nev. (KOLO) Several victims are speaking out after they say Teeter's Tots AKC English Springer Spaniels in Silver Springs sold them sick puppies.
"He was pooping straight blood, and he had a fever, and he was hot and I was terrified I know that blood is not normal," Justine Martin,
Justine Martin bought Riley from an AKC English Springer Spaniel breeder, Teeter's Tot's located in Silver Springs owned by Teresa Morrow for $650 on December 24, 2019.
Martin took her puppy to the vet only to find out he had Roundworm and Coccidia, both transferrable parasites that can infect humans.
Martin kept "asking Teresa probably six different times in text message are you sure none of the other puppies are sick it's just him? and she kept assuring me all other puppies were fine."
Her friend, Amethyst Love, knowing she could end up with a sick dog--- felt compelled to buy cooper from murrow and nurse him back to health.
"She's like come on just save one of them you really will be saving a life and I'm like okay get me in my heart."
A veterinarian diagnosed Cooper with Hookworm and giardia, also parasistes that can infect people.
"she just kept wanting to know how he was eating and how he was pooping like that was her main concern and I'm like so you're obviously asking me for a reason because you know this puppy could have something wrong with him." said, Love.
Martin reported Teeter's Tots to Lyon County Animal Control who confirmed to KOLO 8, that officials seized 24 dogs from there on January 15th.
The investigation is ongoing. We reached out to Morrow for comment.
"they're just puppies and they can't speak you know they can't tell anybody what's wrong."
Both Cooper and Riley are now happy and healthy--- Riley has gained eight pounds in the four weeks he's been with the martin family.
Martin has set up a GoFundMe to help raise money for the two dozen puppies that were seized.
