Police have leads in search for Mill Street shooter

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Reno Police say they have identified a suspect in a shooting Tuesday night, but they have not made an arrest and are not releasing his name at this point.

Police responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Mill and Telegraph Streets just before 10:30 p.m. September 11, 2018. They say the victim was walking with two women, when the group got into an argument with another man, who fired two to three shots from a handgun. The victim was shot in a leg.

Police say the victim was taken to a hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries. The shooter got into a vehicle and left. The RPD gang unit is investigating.

The victim and shooter had encountered each other for the first time at a nearby gas station earlier in the evening, according to police.
