May 24 update:

The Nevada Highway Patrol on Friday identified the driver killed Wednesday in crash on U.S. 50 near Mound House.

The NHP said Syrril Baker, 73, of Silver Springs died at the scene.

Baker was a driver in a 1999 Honda CR-V going east on U.S. 50 near Highlands Drive at about 3:42 p.m. when for an unknown reason crossed over into the next eastbound lane and hit the rear of a 2011 Subaru Legacy. The Honda rolled several times, ejecting Baker.

One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 50 in Lyon County near the Carson City line.

Eastbound U.S. 50 was shut down to one lane as the Nevada Highway Patrol did its investigation until about 7 p.m.

The crash happened at U.S. 50 and Highlands Drive at about 3:42 p.m.

There were two people in the other vehicle and they suffered minor injuries.
