RENO, Nev. (KOLO) -- The Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office has released the name of a man killed in an officer-involved shooting.

Sparks Police say Reno Police responded to a domestic disturbance on Thornridge Court and Desert Bloom Drive in the North Valleys around 9:45 p.m. Sunday, September 23, 2018.

When police got there, there was a confrontation between officers and 44-year-old Phillip Serrano, leading officers to shoot. He was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital. The involved officers have been placed on administrative leave.

No one else was hurt, and no information about the circumstances of the confrontation has yet been released.

Sparks Police are involved per officer-involved shooting protocol, meaning no agency is allowed to lead an investigation into a shooting involving its own officer.
