Nugget Event Center nears completion
After months of construction, the new
is nearing its final completion. The 8,517-seat venue will hold its inaugural concert June 15 with country superstar Toby Keith.
Construction and venue crews are working around the clock to ensure everything is done in time for the show.
"So we have two VIP boxes and that seating doesn't arrive until Friday, so that got us a little bit nervous. But I think we'll be fine there and just making sure things are safe, getting all the final signage labels for the right seat numbers. But we're 95% of the way there, but it'll be a photo finish Saturday," Mark Sterbens, general manager of The Nugget, says.
He expects the concert to be sold out.
"At a minimum we'll have more than 8,000 people and again Toby Keith puts on a great show and I think that people will really enjoy it," he says.
Parking will be available for concert goers in the garage at The Nugget, and street parking is available. Shuttles will also be available beginning at 5 p.m. from the corner of Greenbrae Avenue and 4th Street.
