RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - “Pack the Park” for the sixth annual DogFest Reno 2019, a free community event coming to Dick Taylor Memorial Park on Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Hosted by Canine Companions for Independence, the City of Reno and the University of Nevada, Reno’s ASUN Center for Student Engagement, DogFest Reno is a family-friendly and dog-friendly walk and festival, celebrating and benefiting Canine Companions.

This annual community celebration has another goal: introducing students and the community to the concept of philanthropy, and encouraging a culture of volunteerism, civic engagement and leadership.

DogFest Reno features dog-centric and family-friendly activities, local vendors, music, University student entertainment, a canine agility course, an assistance dog demonstration, a canine costume contest and giveaways from PetSmart.

Bring your dog for the walk ‘n roll, and learn about all the wonderful ways local nonprofit organizations and University student clubs are engaging with and supporting the Reno community. Attendees will also meet Canine Companions puppies and graduates.
