RENO, NV (KOLO) Nom Eats food truck burned after a fire the evening of June 10.
"I kind of just went numb and you know, everyone is kind of offering condolences, and I just had no words and no emotion and I just no idea how to comprehend it kind of a thing," Ian McIntosh, one of the co-owners, says.
Despite the damages, the owners have hope and are planning to rebuild. McIntosh says some parts of the truck are still salvageable.
"I think it probably runs and drives and the grill works and I'm pretty sure the fridge works, but it's super sooty and covered in plastic goo inside," he says.
McIntosh says he is overcome with gratitude to the community. They've been able to raise thousands of dollars in less than 24 hours through their GoFundMe page.
An entire food truck community is also standing with Nom Eats. Steve Schroeder of Food Truck Friday says they'll do whatever they can to help.
"So what we're going to do is really support him through our social media pushes, every point of communication; we have to let our community know we all support each other and we wanna get Ian and Nom Eats back on the streets," Schroeder says.
