The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a teenage boy Thursday night.

Deputies and paramedics were sent to a home on Ramsey Way in Lemmon Valley, told by someone in the home about two unresponsive teens there. Paramedics declared one of them dead; the other was taken to a hospital and no condition has been released.

Sheriff's spokesman Bob Harmon says there was no obvious trauma and no evidence that this is a criminal death investigation, but the cause of death won't be known until toxicology reports are complete, a process that could take weeks.

No names or ages have been released; nor has information about what school the boys attended. But the Washoe County School District confirms there were additional counselors and social workers at North Valleys High School Friday, offering support and resources to students and staff members.

The district is continuing to hold community forums for student safety, a series of five meetings (two remaining) where families can ask questions, express concerns, and speak privately with a panel of district experts in counseling, school police, etc.
