RENO, Nev. (KOLO) Just a few months ago, Brent Andriese left 20 years in the gaming industry to pursue his passion.

"There's more things out there for me to do and it's kind of a follow-your-dreams kind of thing, and the job I was doing was not my dream by any means," Andriese says.

Andriese says he was inspired by his father's example and wants to leave a lasting impact on his children.

"I always encourage my kids to chase their dreams and chase what they want," he says. "What good am I if I don't do that same thing?"

He says he wouldn't be opening Square One Eatery on Valley Road without the help and support from his mentor and partner, Jesus Gutierrez, also known to many as Chuy.

"Those are people we want to team up with. You know in life we go up and down, but we need those people who believe in us and trust in us and make things happen," Gutierrez says.

Along with Karma Box Founder Grant Denton, they have a shared vision to improve this northwest neighborhood.

"If you give to your community and they'll give back ad people that give, they succeed. That's it," Denton says.

Square One opens Sunday, February 24 at 7:00 a.m. at 1771 Valley Road.
