RENO, Nev. (KOLO) A new mural has been added to midtown, and its one that puts the unique history and heritage of Northern Nevada on display.

Located on the corner of S. Virginia St. and La Rue Ave, “Reno Archives” was initiated by the Arts and Culture Commission and completed in collaboration with Pangborn, a local accounting firm. It was painted by artist Stephane Cellier.

“We are showcasing just a quick little snippet of our heritage as a city,” said city councilman Oscar Delgado. “You see mining, gaming, prostitution, the Native American and Latino community. You see the growing diversity of who we are and where we come from.”

The mural has been left open ended so more can be added in the future.
