New Reno-Portland flight dropped due to light interest

RENO, Nev. (KOLO)-- A non-stop route between Reno and Portland on Sun Country Airlines has been canceled due to light early bookings, the Reno-Tahoe International Airport said Friday.

The service was set to begin Nov. 16. The Minneapolis-based Sun Country was announced as Reno’s 10th airline in June.

The Reno-Portland route still has non-stop service on Alaska Airlines.

“We look forward to continuing our strong relationship with the leadership of Sun Country as we consider partnering on future markets that will be the right fit for RNO customers,” Marily Mora, president/CEO of Reno-Tahoe International Airport, said in a statement.
