Nevada State Democratic Party confirms it will not use app for state caucus

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Nevada State Democratic Party has confirmed to KOLO 8 News Now that it will not be using any apps to report results from the state caucuses on February 22nd.

An untested app was blamed for the inability of the Iowa State Democratic Party to properly tabulate and report results from that state's caucuses.

The NV Democrats have not said how they intend to report results from the upcoming caucus.

In a statement released on Tuesday, February 4, 2020, NV State Democratic Party Chair William McCurrdy II said, "NV Dems can confidently say that what happened in the Iowa caucus last night will not happen in Nevada on February 22nd. We will not be employing the same app or vendor used in the Iowa caucus. We had already developed a series of backups and redundant reporting systems, and are currently evaluating the best path forward."
