The Nevada Highway Patrol is looking for witnesses to a head-on crash Thursday on U.S. 50 near the south side of Lake Tahoe that killed a Carson City driver.

The NHP said Hugo Parra-Solis, 37, died as a result of the 7:06 a.m. crash on U.S. 50 near Elks Point Road in the Glenbrook area.

So far the NHP investigation shows the driver of a Ford F-150 pickup going east on U.S. 50 east of Elks Point Road when he crossed the center line and into oncoming traffic. He hit a Chevrolet Silverado pickup towing a utility trailer going west on U.S. 50.

NHP says the driver of the Ford, 40-year-old Jerrad Dominguez, was arrested for suspicion of DUI and booked into the Douglas County jail. NHP had earlier reported a different name.

Any witnesses are asked to email the Nevada Highway Patrol Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team at

A Go Fund Me page has been set up to pay for funeral expenses for Hugo Parra-Solis.
