Name released of Tahoe City ski accident victim

TRUCKEE, Calif. (KOLO) - The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man who died after a skiing accident at Northstar California Resort.

30-year-old Andrew McDowell of Tahoe City was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Renown Regional Medical Center February 3, 2019. The cause and manner of death are pending investigation.

McDowell was an employee at the resort.

“Northstar California, Northstar Ski Patrol and the entire Vail Resorts family extend our deepest sympathy and support to our employee’s family and friends,” says Nadia Guerriero, Northstar California Vice President and General Manager.

The Nevada County Sheriff's Office has not released information about the circumstances of the accident.
