CARSON CITY, NV (KOLO) - The Nevada Assembly has passed Senate Bill 299 39-1 (with one person excused).

SB299 would provide funding for Nevada school districts to invest in electric school buses, using funds from the existing Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Demonstration program to cover 75% of the upfront costs. The bill now heads to Governor Sisolak's desk for his signature.

Governor Sisolak also signed into law Assembly Bill 377, part of which lifts weight limits to allow electric heavy duty trucks to be used on Nevada's roads.
