SILVER SPRINGS, Nev. (KOLO) - The Nevada Highway Patrol continues to investigate a fatal crash from early Saturday.
Shortly before 1AM September 30, 2017, troopers were called to the crash on US50, east of Silver Springs.
The preliminary Investigation indicates 26-year-old Andrew Corbin of Carson City was traveling westbound in a Ford Explorer, and hit a feral horse in the road. He overcorrected, causing him to lose control and roll. Corbin, not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the SUV. He was flown to Reno, where he died in a hospital. The horse also died.
Trooper Karen Garretson of the Nevada Highway Patrol’s Multi-disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.
