ELKO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Nevada Highway Patrol has released the name of an Elko man killed in a crash north of the city.

Troopers were called to the crash shortly after noon November 30, 2018 on State Route 225, about 12 miles north of Elko.

Preliminary investigation indicates 58-year-old Scott McKay was driving a Dodge pickup northbound. For unknown reasons, he drifted off the right paved shoulder, then went down an embankment and overturned, finally resting on its wheels.

NHP says McKay died at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt.
