RENO, Nev. (KOLO)-- The Nevada Highway Patrol reports a driver was arrested Tuesday night for allegedly driving the wrong way on Interstate 580 after the driver caused a crash.
Stephanie Rochelle Peoples, 23, was booked on five counts, including driving under the influence, reckless driving, having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle, being under the influence of a schedule 1 substance and possessing a dangerous drug without a prescription.
Peoples was spotted going north in the southbound lanes about 7:30 p.m., the NHP said. A vehicle swerved to avoid her and hit another vehicle, the NHP said.
Peoples then turned around on the freeway after that and with the help of a witness the NHP found her in the Plumb Lane area.
The NHP said there were no injuries.
The crash, however, damaged the freeway barriers and the Nevada Department of Transportation was called in to repair them.
