MINDEN, Nev. (AP) - The Nevada Highway Patrol is seeking the public's help in a renewed effort to find a suspect in a fatal hit-and-run accident in Minden that has gone unsolved for two years.
Monday marked the second anniversary of the death of 21-year-old Roberto Palomar-Espinoza. His body was found lying along Freemont Avenue south of Johnson Lane in Minden at 5 a.m. on July 1, 2017.
Investigators say no one has come forward and they've been unable to establish any credible leads.
The victim's aunt, Maria Prado-Espinosa, told The Record-Courier the family is "deeply saddened and hurt" that no one has been able to offer any new information.
Palomar-Espinoza was walking home from a party when he apparently was hit. He was planning to attend Western Nevada College that fall.
