SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) -- Market analysts expect the legal marijuana trade to have compound growth of 30 percent over the next few years. As a result, Silver State Trading, a cultivation business in Sparks, is going to need more employees.

"I want to have many more people; I mean, this is a fantastic industry to be in if you are passionate about medicine, passionate about doing good while doing good. So ultimately do we want to hire, yes, we will continue to hire,” said John Sutton, co-president, Silver State Trading.

The 40-thousand-square-foot facility began production in August 2015 and has the capacity to hold roughly 4,000 plants. They're monitored closely by the company and law enforcement.

"The building is filled with bulletproof glass and HD cameras that capture everyone's movement 24/7/365,” said Sutton. “The city of Sparks Enforcement Agency can look in on us at any time. We have emergency buttons we can push if anyone came in like an armed intruder."

The company plans to sell its marijuana to dispensaries in Nevada and also market its own line of cannabis edibles soon.
