RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Northern Nevada Math Club (NNVMath), a 501(c)3 charitable organization focused on getting kids excited about math and giving them the foundation needed to pursue STEM jobs and careers, is holding a fundraiser on Pi Day, March 14 (3.14).
This event is a Black & White Cocktail Party Fundraiser (formal wear is allowed but not required). It's the main fundraiser for NNVMath and its success will guide programming decisions for the 2019-20 school year.
The event will be at Tamarack Junction, 13101 S. Virginia Street in Reno, 6-9PM.
Tickets are $75/person and $125/couple. Heavy appetizers will be served. Each entry ticket comes with a drink ticket good for a beer or wine. You can buy tickets here.
Executive Director Sherry Griffin says, “We believe that math is the creative application of logic to solve complex problems. We encourage kids to embrace difficult problems and emphasize the importance of being able to work as part of a team. We have programs for all grades 1-12 and all area students are welcome. We don’t believe money should prevent students from having a math opportunity and work with families to ensure all students have access to our programs. The success of this fundraiser is key to allowing us to expand our program and reach more kids.”
Main sponsor is Eide Bailly LLP and beverage sponsor is Intuit.
