Man arrested for Wadsworth stabbing

WADSWORTH, Nev. (KOLO) - A man has been arrested for a stabbing in Wadsworth late Thursday morning.

Pyramid Paiute Emergency Manager Don Pelt tells KOLO 8 News Now about 11AM February 7, 2019, a fight between two men on Pyramid Street in Wadsworth ended with one of them stabbing the other. Pelt says the victim was stabbed four times with what the victim says is a butterfly knife, and was taken to a hospital. Pelt says injuries appear to be minor.

Pelt says 26-year-old Charles George was arrested shortly after the stabbing; he led officers on a short foot chase and was tased, then was taken to the Washoe County jail. No information has been released about a possible motive.

The incident led to a brief precautionary code yellow lockdown at Natchez Elementary School, which is near the scene of the attack.
