Man charged with murder for Wadsworth killing

WADSWORTH, Nev. (KOLO) -- The Washoe County Sheriff's Office says a man has been charged for a fatal stabbing in Wadsworth.

36-year-old Clayton Davis was charged April 8, 2019 with Open Murder and Burglary while in Possession of a Deadly Weapon. Davis has been in the Washoe County jail on unrelated charges since early December, 2018.

November 27, 2018, deputies were called to reports of a stabbing at a home on Barrel Street near the intersection of Slip Mine Street in Wadsworth. Deputies responded along with officers from the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Police Department. They found 58-year-old John Whitaker of Olinghouse outside the home; he was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital.

No information has been released about a possible motive.
