Sparks Police say a man has been arrested for driving his truck into the Sparks Marina while under the influence of alcohol.

Police got a call around 11:59 p.m. November 17, 2016 about a truck that had gone into the water. They say when they arrived, the truck was submerged in 6 feet of water and the driver, 29-year-old Rickey Hall, Jr. of Las Vegas, was out of the marina and uninjured. Police say no one else was in the truck at the time of the crash.

Police say Hall had been exceeding the speed limit and lost control of the truck, but the actual cause of the crash has not been determined.

Police say the crash caused minor property damage to a front yard and a city park bench, but no one was injured.

Washoe County Search and Rescue assisted a tow truck company in removing the truck from the marina late Friday morning. Police say there appears to be no danger or threat to the rest of the marina.

Hall is charged with DUI, failure to maintain a lane, and destruction of property.
